The wine has a lovely shimmer and is a pretty golden colour with green reflections. The rich and complex nose is characterised by pleasant and subtle floral and mineral aromas. It has a wonderful, fat structure in the mouth with minerality and charming aromas of butter, brioche and meadow mushrooms. It is a harmonious wine that is not only fine and elegant but also has an excellent aromatic persistence. Best drunk cold with oysters, shellfish, fish, chicken, turkey and goats cheese.
Delightfully, fresh with citrus and tropical fruit flavours such as papaya and apple. Refreshing and well balanced with a ripe finish. The wine is not oaked. Enjoy with seafood, fish or poultry dishes.
Grapes are selected and destemmed before crushing. The wine spends 12 - 14 months in toasted American oak barrels which lend spicy aromas and flavours to the wine. The wine is Garnet red with tawny hues. Juicy hedgerow fruits and a touch of smoky vanilla on the nose backed by hints of cedar spice. Smooth and well structured with a lingering finish.Serve with any red meat, lamb, cheese and game.
Ruby red in colour. On the nose lively aromas of strawberries,
blackberries and cherries are married with subtle floral nuances. It
is smooth on the palate with round tannins and a refreshing
acidity. The wine is not oak aged.Grapes for the Grão Vasco wines are sourced from a network of
trusted Dão growers who follow sustainable practices in their
vineyards. The Dão region is on the raised Beirão pleateau and the
vineyards are at altitudes of around 450 metres above sea level.
Cool nights here counteract the warmth of the days, ensuring that
the grapes undergo a slow ripening process and retain a fresh
acidity whilst accumulating great depth of flavour. Soils in the Dão
are predominantly granitic, which lends elegance to the wines.Goes well with grilled beef or lamb or robust stew. For a veggie alternative try with spinach and lentil
