Blandy's Duke of Cumberland Medium Rich Madeira
A deep, luscious, medium rich Madeira; tangy with crisp fruit, excellent with dessert and cheeses. Blandy's Duke of Cumberland is fined and does not require decanting. It is a superb accompaniment to dessert dishes, especially fruit, cakes, milk chocolate or custard puddings and soft cheeses. It has been bottled when ready for drinking and will keep for several months after opening. VINEYARDS Various quality vineyards grown at between 200m and 400m on the north of the island near São Vicente. VINIFICATION Blandy's Duke of Cumberland underwent fermentation on the skins with natural yeast at between 24°C - 26°C C in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. After approximately 3 days, fortification with grape brandy takes place, arresting fermentation at the desired degree of sweetness. MATURATION Blandy's Duke of Cumberland was transferred to 'estufa' tanks where the wine underwent a cyclic heating and cooling process between 45°C and 50°C over a period of 3 months. After 'estufagem' the wine was aged for three years in American oak casks and then underwent racking and fining before the blend was assembled and bottled.

This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from select vineyards in California with warm days and cool nights. These vineyards are characterized by a long growing season which helps develop ripe and round fruit flavours. Each vineyard was harvested and fermented separately in upright stainless steel fermenters. Rack and return, which is the process of draining all of the free-run juice off the cap and then returning the free-run juice back over the top of the fermenter, was performed twice daily. This method increases colour and tannin extraction and improves the mouthfeel through the integration of oxygen. This wine was aged for 12 months in neutral oak. Flavours of red cherry, anise, and a hint of vanilla, abound in this Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is well balanced with medium tannins, a smooth mid-palate and a spicy, coffee finish.

Intense, cigar box and ripe spiced fruit on the nose, a full-bodied St Emilion. Properly structured but with plush red fruits and a touch of leather and cedar with fine grained lingering tannins that last right through to the long finish.From 2 hectares of vines with an average age of 25-30 years. A portion of the vines are situated at the base of the Saint Christophe des Bardes slope on sand and iron rich sandstone soils, the rest are situated on the gravel soils of Saint Sulpice. This process takes 90 days and renders the wine completely stable. Smooth and medium bodied it has great balance and a lingering finish.The vineyard is located in Nashik, to the north of Mumbai in the Western Ghats Mountains. The vines are grown at approximately 600 metres above sea level. The climate here is mild in the winter with temperatures of approximately 10°C, rising to 35°C in the summer. Rainfall can be high. The vines are grown in red soils with gravel and clay, which has a high iron content and good drainage. deep purple wine with delicious notes of ripe blackberry and blueberry fruit, enlivened by a hint of black peppery spice and a touch of rich dark chocolate. Smooth and medium bodied on the palate, it shows great balance and a lingering finish.The grapes were cold soaked and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of between 25° to 30°C. During fermentation regular, gentle pump-overs took place to extract the desired levels of colour and flavour and to impart structure to the wine.
