Produced from selected Pinot Grigio grapes grown on hillside vineyards in Provincia di Pavia, northern Italy. The grapes were hand harvested during the first 2 weeks of September. The grapes were crushed and gently pressed and the juice allowed to settle and clarify before cool fermentation at 16 to 18C in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was bottled young after a period of 3 to 6 months ageing on fine lees in stainless steel tanks. 

Strawberry and bramble aromas lead on to delicate, yet juicy, red berry characters on the palate - with slight creaminess, and a crisp dry finish.

Produced in the Pavia region in Italy.

This wine has a lovely perfumed nose with fine floral aromas mixed with a tad of honey and spice; quite full and rich, lightly smoky honeysuckle perfume with smooth but dry(ish) finish.

The grapes were harvested in the cool of the night before being fermented in stainless steel tanks where the wine remained for 8 months on the lees which enhanced the flavours.

This wine combines delicious red cherry and dried cranberry concentration, with a touch of dark spice. The palate has wild bramble and cherry pie notes. It finishes bright, fresh and gently toasty.

Fruit is sourced from a vineyard in Monterey, California’s Central Coast region and sit next to a chain of hills which separate the vineyards from the Pacific coast. The site benefits from the cooling breezes from the Pacific and as such lends itself to Pinot Noir. Fruit is destemmed before undergoing a period of cold maceration. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and 30% of the blend has then spent 8 months on medium toast French oak.

From maritime vineyards in Marlborough’s south easterly extremes in the Blind River Valley. We exploit this coastal fruit by capturing a breezy finesse over the classic cranberry and wild strawberry aromas giving us a wine with enough bite and texture to be foody but with enough generosity of fruit to be a delicious glass on its own. A lick of oak in the winemaking lends a little soothing creaminess to the whole.

Light cherry red in colour leads to an elegant nose of red cherry and raspberry fruit with gentle spice notes from barrel aging. The palate is silky, fine and hugely inviting. The Casablanca Valley is influenced by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean and its coastal breezes that moderate temperatures. The area ranges from soft rolling hills to higher hills toward the Coastal  Mountain range in the east. The poor, sandy loam soils are alluvial in origin, relatively shallow and very permeable, resulting in yields which are generally low in comparison with other Chilean valleys.  Temperatures are much cooler here, allowing the grapes to ripen very slowly to produce rich flavoured wines. The Casablanca Valley is influenced by the Pacific Ocean and the Humboldt Current, resulting in constant humidity and average temperatures of 25ºC in the summer and 14ºC in the winter. The spring of 2015 was cooler than average and the relative humidity was higher. This caused uneven budbreak and later ripening. An increase in rainfall forced an earlier harvest in April. The grapes are harvested into 400-kg bins and transported to the winery, where first the clusters and then the grapes (after destemming) are selected on a conveyor belt. Once in the tank, they undergo a pre-fermentation maceration for 3 days, followed naturally by alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts. During this stage, temperatures are kept at 24-26º C, with a gentle pump-over routine. A 2-3-day post-fermentation maceration is then carried out. Malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously in stainless steel tanks and barrels. The wine is filtered through 1-micron membranes and then bottled. 70% of the wine is aged for 6 months in French oak barrels.

The Bio Bio has a moderate humid Mediterranean climate with warm days and cool nights prolonging the growing season. Average rainfall is among highest of all Chilean wine valleys. The Bio Bio’s higher rainfall, strong winds and broader extremes make for more challenging conditions than those of Chile’s more northerly regions. Vine growing here requires more patience, skill and nerve than in other valleys. The Pinot grows on a red clay soil here. The pressing is at low temperature to extract colour and aromas but no harsh tannins. The fermentation is relatively cool with gentle pump-overs. After fermentation is finished, 10% of the blend is aged for 6 months in French oak to give more complexity to the wine.

100% estate grown grapes from the Dealul Uberland vineyard. The altitude here is around 250 m, with soil rich in iron oxide and loess on fractured limestone bedrock.

25% of the grapes were transfered directly into 1000 Kg bins without being destemmed then sealed and put through a carbonic macceration fermentation for 10 days in order to produce the strawberry fruit part of the blend. The remaining 75%was destemmed lightly crushed and then macerated and fermented normally at 25°C in stainless steel automated fermenters. Both wines were then seperately pressed and the noncarbonic maceration wine was lightly oaked for 2 months before blending.

A bright, vibrant wine with spicy red berry fruit such as blueberry and mulberry, exotic spice and creamy vanilla, evident ripe tannins and a long finish. This wine drinks well young but will improve over the next 6 to 8 years, gaining more complexity. 

The grapes were hand-picked into small baskets and taken to the cellar. A portion was fermented in open bins and hand-punched four times a day. The rest was fermented in a rototank. No commercial yeast was used as these grapes ferment well with their own yeast. The wine matured in a mixture of French and American oak barrels for 14 months. Approximately 30% was new wood.

Grapes are hand and machine harvested from 30 year old Sauvignon Blanc vines within a 22 hectare

vineyard on the hill of St Andelain on a mix of Silex and Kimmerigian clay. The estate undertakes

disease and pest control measures by maintaining natural balance ("lutte raisonnée") and works the soil

in a traditional way. Individual parcels are vinified separately. The grapes are gently pressed

pneumatically. Prior to fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the must is naturally clarified by cold

stabilisation and some of the grapes are macerated on the skins for a short period to maximise flavour

complexity. Either wild or selected yeasts are used, depending on conditions - indigenous yeasts are

believed to add more character. The fermentation is cool and slow over 3 weeks and the wine remains

on the fine lees. The gravity fed cellar is on two levels and all temperature controlled.

There are fine, light, fruity aromas of fresh green apples and pears plus a hint of yeastiness on the nose. The palate is creamy and softly sparkling with some richness and a long, gently aromatic finish.

The perfect aperitif or celebration wine. Also goes very well with Panettone.

Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Spumante is made from Glera grapes cultivated in selected vineyards in the district of Valdobbiadene near the town of Conegliano in the region of Veneto. Produced using the Charmat method of sparkling wine production with secondary fermentation taking place in tank. (The Champagne/traditional method is not used for Prosecco because the long ageing period would rob the wine of its freshness). 

Quietly complex on the nose with fresh lime notes combining with a steely minerality and gentle honeysuckle flora. The palate is mid weight and off dry with persistent flavours of lime, there is natural salinity which gives contrast yet lovely balance. It finishes clean with a lingering flinty character.

Back in 1988, three families decided to invest in a winery in Romania, starting with 650 hectares of slightly unloved vineyards and a rusty, once state-owned winery.

Yet Englishman Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira, have turned the Cramele Recas Estate into the most successful winery in Romania. Recas are now recognised globally for their impressive scale and breadth of fascinating wines, including natural and orange wine from organic grapes. Despite the scale the emphasis is on making good wines that over-deliver, and as a result they’ve struck on a magic formula that has seen sales and demand boom. Vineyards are a combination of evolved plantings from 1447 and more recent planting, whilst the winery has seen significant investment and boasts state of the art facilities where innovation thrives. Recas are in every way a modern, dynamic winery, whose open minded approach and quality sets them apart … a winery you really can’t ignore.

Viticulture

Densely planted on hilly sites surrounding the winery at an altitude of 100m, the vines average 10 years old. Trained using the Guyot method. Drip irrigation is used if absolutely necessary though is by no means used every year.

Winemaking

100% handpicked estate grown fruit was harvested and taken quickly to the winery where it was gently destemmed and crushed. Cooled immediately to 8°C, the grapes were then pressed in a vacuum press under nitrogen to prevent oxidation, before being transferred to decantation tanks for 24 hours until completely clarified. Inoculated with selected yeast, the wine was fermented in stainless steel at very low temperatures between 8 and 10°C for 25 days, before clarification and bottling.

Greenish-yellow in colour and expressive on the nose. Very fruity aromas of grapefruit, pineapple, and gooseberries with notes of green chili  and white pepper. The palate features dense body with good acidity and silky texture.

The high acidity and aromatic persistence in this wine make it an excellent aperitif as well as an ideal companion to shellfish and raw or cooked white fish. It can also be served with white meats such as chicken seasoned with lemon, salads, and fresh cheeses. Best served at 7º–10ºC

The vineyards are distributed among three major sectors of the Coastal Mountain Range in Leyda, Lo Abarca, and Rosario, although newer areas are constantly appearing. The region´s mountainous topography, it is cool climate, and its distinctively thin and rocky soil, produce white wines known by its minerality and an intense acidity. Fundo Rosario vineyards are located 250m above sea level in the Lagunilla zone. The vines are clone 242, vertically positioned, drip irrigated, and primarily planted on hillsides. The mountainous topography of the region, its fresh climate and its particular rocky and thin soil, produce white wines famous for their minerality and intense acidity. The grapes are machine harvested at night to take advantage of the naturally low temperatures and transported to the winery, where they are deposited into a pneumatic press. After pressing, the must is decanted and prepared for alcoholic fermentation by adjusting the turbidity level to 100 NTU and inoculating the tank with selected yeasts. Fermentation begins at 15ºC and finished at 16º–17ºC. The tank is then chilled to aid in the decantation of the coarser lees, and after 2 days, the clean wine is racked to tanks for aging. During this time, its lees are maintained in suspension for 3 months, which encourages the development of fatty and aromatic compounds and delivery of greater complexity to the wine.

The name Los Cardos comes from the thistle: the sign of a good harvest. This wine represents just that, a fantastic example of Sauvignon Blanc from Mendoza in Argentina. Our Shiraz is sourced from ancient Victorian soils in order to achieve a wine with greater finesse, purity and structure as well as typical eucalypt flavours and saline finish associated with the area. Picked at night and crushed within an hour of picking before being sent to the fermentation tanks. The Shiraz grapes were fermented in temperature-controlled tanks maintained at 22 - 25ºC to avoid extracting any harsh tannins, with the fermentations pumped over to extract good colour. 20% of the final blend is barrel aged. The winemaker also added 5% Malbec at the end of the whole process - a sneaky technique that gives a mulberry fruit twist on the finish. 

Bright red in appearance with ripe raspberries and spice on the nose. The palate is juicy and plump with cherries and a gentle tannin finish.

Grapes are grown in the Finca El Retiro vineyards located 1,650 mts above sea level in Cafayate, Salta. Surrounded by ancient and magnificent cacti, the vineyard age is 65 years vines produce approx. 15 tones/hectares. Harvest takes place by hand in three batches between end of January when just ripe; 2 weeks later when just right; and one week after that which adds complexity. Use of selected yeast. Maceration in press with carbonic for 4 hours. Alcoholic fermentation for 25 days at a temperature between 13 ºC & 15 ºC. Non spontaneous malolactic fermentation.

A blend of traditional and classic grapes made in a clean, crisp modern style with an aromatic, flowery nose. The palate is fresh with green apple and citrus fruit.

The best quality grapes are sourced from re-grafted old bush vines, planted on gravel soils. Grapes are picked at night to ensure they are cool when they reach the winery. Fermented for 22 days at 14 ºC, then kept on fine lees for 4 months before bottling.

Carta Roja Pura, an organic and no sulphur added wine, has been created with San Antonio Abad to meet the growing demand for sustainable wines that treat the environment with respect. The wine is made from organically grown grapes in the Villamalea region of Castilla La Mancha, where the high altitudes and warm, dry summers are idea for organic viticulture.

Stylish and concentrated with fresh intense aromas of grapefruit and lime as well as honeyed stonefruit. The palate is fresh and fruity.

Very approachable with apple, pear and ripe stone fruit. A mouthfilling minerality adds to the complexity and weight.

The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature and then spends 18 months in American and French oak barrels and a further 6 months in bottle before releasing.

Intense cherry red colour, ripe black and red fruits, spices, liquorice and chocolate aroma. Round and well-balanced with fruity notes.

Aged in used French and American oak barrels for 6 months.

Tempranillo 95%, Garnacha 5%. The vines in La Muga and Los Poyatos vineyards are mostly very old Tempranillo bush vines. Really healthy grapes were harvested and after slow fermentation in tank at controlled temperatures the wine was transferred to barrel for 6 months. A mixture of a very few of new American oak barrels, just to give the spice and toast aromas but mostly 2nd and 3rd year barrels of predominantly French oak were used to promote the evolution of the wine from a bright fruit bomb to something more mellow with a roundness and the unmistakeable stamp of something good, a “Semi-Crianza” of sorts.

Ripe citrus and delicately tropical aromas lead to a textural, mineral palate with bright acidity, mandarin characters and appealing finish.

Casa de Vila Nova is located in the North of Portugal. The vineyards are exposed to the Atlantic Ocean winds and influence. The grapes are harvested by hand.

High quality fruit is sourced from Emiliana's growers in Casablanca and Colchagua  resulting in this delicious, fresh, spicy and aromatic Viognier.

Due to its soft texture and concentrated flavours, this wine is ideal for serving with grilled escalopes with a tropical reduction, grilled fish with a cream sauce, and some desserts such as papayas with cream.

 A wonderful un oaked wine with honeysuckle and apricot aromas and rich, almost unctuous palate that is somehow still dry, tangy and refreshing.

A very sweet Oloroso, aged in the solera system for over 5 years. The resulting sherry is very dark mahogany in colour. On the nose, dried nuts and faint aromas of raisins. muscatel and toasted sugar. Smooth and velvety with a warm palate owing to its alcohol content with a long finish.

The hue of the medium dark purple Zinfandel, displays all the attractive qualities of a young wine. Pleasant ripe red currants and fresh strawberry immediately come to mind followed by caramelised sugar and toast.
