A deep dark cherry red wine made from Tempranillo grapes that are hand harvested. The nose is fresh and intense with attractive blackberry and raspberry hints. Spicy and toasted in the background with hints of toffee, coffee and vanilla. The palate is powerful. lively and tasty with attractive hints of ripe fruit accompanied by chocolate. liquorice and cocoa with a long persistent finish.

After harvest, the selected grapes are fermented for 12 to 15 days. The wine is aged for 5 months in fine grained oak barrels - 70% of these are French and the other 30% are American.

Made from Nebbiolo grapes cultivated around the town of Barolo in southern Piemonte. These are trained on a low Guyot trellis at a density 4-5,000 vines/ha. The grapes were hand-harvested, de stemmed and then crushed to small fermenters, for around 12 days, with daily pumping-over. This ensures good colour and flavour extraction, but avoids over extraction of the abundant Nebbiolo tannins. The wine was drained off at dryness, and the skins transferred to a small press. After pressing the wine was settled for two days, and then racked to stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation. After three years maturation in 50hl Slavonian oak casks it was racked and bottled.

Intense ripe fruit aromas on the nose with plum and blackcurrant characters, hints of liquorice and lightly structured tannins from the Cabernet fruit.

Vineyards are located in the north-west corner of Utiel Requena, 900 metres above sea level. Wines are made from organically-grown grapes in vineyards cultivated using natural fertilisers, cover crops, biological control of pests and not using any chemical products that may damage the health of the environment. Grapes are cooled and undergo pre-ferment whole bunch maceration before temperature controlled tank fermentation.

The grapes come into the winery as whole bunches because the Vallets believe that destalked wines lose their colour too quickly. The first 10cm of each barrel is filled with grapes which are crushed by foot, the barrel is then topped up with whole bunches and fermentation starts naturally after 2-3 days. Since yeasts are an expression of the individual vintage and vineyard, no artificial yeasts are used. 3-4 times a day the pulp is trodden by foot to further extract colour and flavour. The wines are left in open top fermenters until the cap sinks then decanted into 20-30% well-toasted new oak (a small percentage compared to most). After 15-20 months the wine is racked, blended and lightly fined. Wines are not filtered but checked by candlelight, then bottled directly from barrel by hand on a cask by cask basis.

The grapes for this stunning Hungarian wine are hand harvested in late October from vineyards near the town of Eger. They are then fermented with skins in stainless steel tanks for 12 days to enhance the freshness of the fruit flavours, before being fermented in Hungarian oak barrels for 6 months, to enrich the bold dark fruit and peppery notes.

A full bodied Zinfandel, produced in California. Packed with damson fruit flavours with a twist of black pepper. Wonderfully balanced with a persistent finish.

The name Los Cardos comes from the thistle: the sign of a good harvest. This wine represents just that, a fantastic example of Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendoza in Argentina. Deep ruby red in colour, it is full of black fruit flavours, with a good hint of spice as well. It is really elegant, with a long finish.

The grapes are harvested in late March and early April. In the winery, they are first destemmed and softly crushed. A cold pre fermentative maceration takes place to preserve the primary aromas. Then, the must is cooled and traditional fermentation starts.

The grapes for this wine come from organic vineyards of Los Morros and Los Robles in the Maipo Valley. Soils are alluvial, rich in minerals with good drainage and irrigated by water from the snow  thaw. The grapes were hand picked. The Maipo zone has ideal conditions for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. The Maipo River regulates the temperatures naturally and prevents frost and extremes of heat and cold. The spring of 2013 was slightly colder than the historic average, followed by a summer with high temperatures, which accelerated ripening and prevented the delays that were initially predicted for the 2014 harvest. Rainfall in the Maipo Valley was concentrated in the winter months and reached approximately 250 mm, which is well below the nearly 450 mm recorded during the 2012–2013 season. The grape reception area includes a double selection conveyor belt that allows selection first at the bunch level and again after destemming. Vinification begins with a 4–5-day prefermentation cold soak at 8ºC followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts at 26ºC and a pumpovers program determined by enological criteria. Malolactic fermentation takes place naturally in tanks and barrels, where the wine is aged at controlled temperatures for 12 months. It is neither fined nor stabilized; it is just lightly filtered with a 1-micron cartridge filter prior
to bottling.

This Cabernet Merlot is deep purple in colour, an intensely fruity wine with cherry on the nose, followed by flavours of blackcurrant and ripe red berry on the palate. Some of the wine was aged in French oak and this gives a bit of extra flavour to the finished wine.

The Central Valley vitivinicultural zone extends from the Maipo Valley in the north to the Maule Valley in the south. The entire zone has good drainage, high fertility, and tremendous agricultural aptitude, especially for red grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and others. The Mediterranean climate has warm summers with broad daily oscillations between daytime and night time temperatures, and cold, rainy winters that allow for good vine development. The soils are of alluvial origin with moderate depth, and good for agriculture. The grapes were hand picked in mid- April and submitted to a week-long pre-fermentation cold soak at 8ºC (46ºF) to extract fresh fruit characteristics. Alcoholic fermentation took place at 25º–28ºC with daily pump-overs. The new wine remained on its skins for a period, after which the free run wine was separated from its skins and allowed to undergo malolactic fermentation naturally. Part of this wine was aged in oak barrels for 6 months and later reblended to achieve a more complex character.

Springs are frost-free, and summers are very warm, which encourages proper ripening. Summers are hot but with cool night temperatures. The soils are medium to very deep, of alluvial origin, and have a silty-loam texture that allows for good vine development. The grapes were hand picked in late April and early May and submitted to a week-long pre-fermentation cold treatment at 8ºC (46ºF) to extract more fruit characteristics. Alcoholic fermentation took place at 25º–28ºC (77º–82ºF) with pumpovers determined  by daily tastings through the end of the process. A post-fermentation maceration followed, and then the wine was devatted, separating the free-run wine from the skins. Malolactic fermentation took place naturally. 20% of the wine was aged in French oak for 6 months and then blended for a more complex character.

A dark, rich and dense red wine made from Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvèdre with plenty of red berry aromas with morello cherry, spices, pepper and wild flowers. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and concrete vats after a long maturation and then it is aged in French oak barrels for 15 months. The palate is full and supple with spicy aromas.

Château Peuy Saincrit is a beautiful estate situated on the right bank of the Garonne river. The estate is
located on one of the roads of pilgrimage towards St Jacques de Compostelle. The vineyard have the
particularity to be crossed by the 45th parallel.
Situated on Montalon's hillside, highest point of the region, the estate benefits from exceptional favorable
natural conditions. Orientated South, the vineyard takes advantage of an exceptional sunshine period.
Thanks to his geographical and natural position, the estate is preserved as much as possible frost and
hail. The vineyard is mainly planted with old vines planted on a rocky base recovered by a thin layer of
clay and limestone. This very qualitative terroir is particularly well suited to produce an hight quality wine.

An intense dark ruby coloured wine made from a blend of traditional grapes mainly: Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mouvedre. The grapes are sorted by hand before destemming and crushing. The wine is matured in vats and oak casks before bottling.

The nose has ripe black fruit, cherry and spices. The palate reveals the presence of tannins and is elegant and full. The finish is long and luxurious.

This is a traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape serious and brooding and benefits from a little time to breath and open up. The palate is complex with herby, tapenade flavours and ripe textured tannins balancing the significant 15% alcohol which is expertly managed and integrated. 

Try with traditional roast lamb, lentil and vegetable moussaka and any rich hot-pot that heavily features aromatic 'herbes de Provence'. 

The soils of the vineyard are made up of clay and chalk covered with a layer of the classic large peebles ('galets') found in this area, which naturally keep yields low. The vines are over 60 years old and situated near the plateau de Carbières (close to Château Montredon). Harvesting is by hand, with selective sorting of the grapes. The grapes undergo a traditional long 'cuvaison' at quite high temperature and with extended maceration on the skins, 21-24 days to extract plenty of colour, fruit and tannins. This is followed by ageing for between 14-18 months in 'foudres' (large oak barrels), 70% vats, 30% Burgundian pieces and casks.

A large estate, with 180 hectares of immaculately maintained vineyards in Castelnuovo Berardenga, which lies adjacent to its sister property Villa la Pagliaia. The wines at both are made by Leonardo Bellacini, a master of the 'non interventionist' approach, giving classic expressions of high quality Sangiovese, restrained and complex and with great balance and depth. The secret lies in high quality grapes from exceptional vineyards, driven by an intensive research programme, in particular by selection of the best naturally occuring clones. Ruby red in colour. On the nose lively aromas of strawberries, blackberries and cherries are married with subtle floral nuances. It is smooth on the palate with round tannins and a refreshing acidity. The wine is not oak aged.

Grapes for the Grão Vasco wines are sourced from a network of trusted Dão growers who follow sustainable practices in their vineyards. The Dão region is on the raised Beirão pleateau and the vineyards are at altitudes of around 450 metres above sea level. Cool nights here counteract the warmth of the days, ensuring that the grapes undergo a slow ripening process and retain a fresh acidity whilst accumulating great depth of flavour. Soils in the Dão are predominantly granitic, which lends elegance to the wines.

Goes well with grilled beef or lamb or robust stew. For a veggie alternative try with spinach and lentil casserole.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Syrah (40%), Cinsault (15%) and Carignan (5%) Grapes are grown on 15-20 year old vines on sandy limestone, with clay sub-soils. All four varietals were hand harvested and fermented in concrete vats for 10 days. Malolactic fermentation begins spontaneously, after which the wine was blended and then aged for 16 months in concrete vats.

A full bodied wine made from a blend of Carignan, Syrah and Grenache in the heart of the Cathar country, near the small village of Tuchan. A garnet red wine with purple hues. 

The palate is complex and intensively fruity with notes of vanilla with powerful tannins followed by a long pleasant finish.

Serve with grilled and cooked meats, Mediterranean cuisine or strong cheeses.

A heady perfume of freshly picked irises and peonies drift above the crushed berry fruit nose. The fleshy, luscious, cherry flavours and hints of rose are typically vivacious, backed up with a touch of spice and good depth.

 A classy blend of Grenache and Syrah made from grapes grown on the hottest and driest soils of the Languedoc. A wonderful, intense wine with a powerful nose of red fruits. The palate is full and complex  with a supple, roundness.

The grapes were fermented in stainless steel to retain the freshness of the fruit.

This wine is bright ruby red in colour. On the nose, generous aromas of strawberries and red cherries stand out, with spicy complexity coming from the oak ageing. It is vibrant and supple on the palate with elegant tannins, delicately balanced acidity and a lovely fresh finish.

The Guedes family had always rated the quality of the Herdade do Peso grapes – they had been using them in their Vinha do Monte wines since the early 1990s – and jumped at the opportunity to purchase the estate in 1996. Situated in the south of the Alentejo, in the sub-region of Vidígueira, the Herdade do Peso estate covers a total of 457 hectares, 160 hectares of which are currently planted with vines. Winemaker Luís Cabral de Almeida makes expressive and generous wines that reflect the warmer climate of the Alentejo.

VINEYARDS Despite its southerly location, Vidígueira is one of the cooler Alentejo sub-regions and benefits from cool Atlantic air funnelled inland from the coast by a gap in the surrounding mountains. Limestone soils help to control vine vigour and lend elegance to the wines. All of the Herdade do Peso vineyards are sustainably farmed and an on-site dam provides much-needed water to irrigate the vineyards during the Alentejo summers.

VINIFICATION Following full destemming and gentle crushing, maceration and fermentation took place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26ºC over a period of around eight days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged in second, third and fourth fill French oak barrels for around six months. It underwent a light fining and filtration before bottling.

A deep coloured red wine with an intense, elegant bouquet of blackcurrant, blackberry, raspberry and cherry. In the mouth these fruits are evident with fullness and roundness and balance with gives good length. The finish is long with spicy notes.

Great with a loin of lamb or cheese. 

Bright ruby red. The nose is compact with brooding red fruit and spicy wood. The palate is round and supple with red fruit flavour accented by spicy wood. It is a deeply satisfying wine.

Great with robust dishes such as ratatouille or braised beef shanks.

“Finca Vista” translates to “Estate View”. The grapes for this wine have been carefully selected from three high quality vineyards in the Mendoza region; Lujan, Maipu and Junin. The vineyards are all over 40 years old and are situated at high altitude, close to the Andes Mountain range. The three vineyards are situated between 700 to 1,100 metres above sea level, from where the view is simply stunning.

 Ripe fruits on the nose with aromas of plums and quince and a touch of elegant oak. Blackberry and liquorice fruit on the palate lead to a rich and long finish with smoky accents of vanilla and lingering oak.

40% of the wine is matured in American oak barrels for 8 months. 

Enjoy with pasta in tomato sauce or an Argentine style steak.

An intense purplish red coloured wine with deep aromatic notes of juicy plum, fresh violets and roses and a hint of cedar. Made from a selection of parcels from 15 - 25 year old vineyards located in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. After de-stemming the grapes are crushed and the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks. Once fermentation has finished the wine is put into barrels for ageing. The wine is aged for a minimum 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Once the wines is bottled, it is kept a further 12 months in bottle before release. 

The wine in an attractive colour with soft spice and refined oak on the nose with a depth of jammy red berry fruits. Luscious and intense with pleasant tannins that mingle with fresh and mature fruit. The finish is delicious with long lasting flavours.

Maury is a “vin doux naturel” style wine created by adding fortifying spirits, such as brandy, to the wine in mid-fermentation. Warm black cherry and blackberry on the nose with spicy vanilla aromas. Selected from vines older than forty years and matured in new oak barrels, 100% Grenache.
