The grapes for False Bay Bush Vine Pinotage stem from a single vineyard of unirrigated bush vines in Stellenbosch. The attraction to this mature (planted in 1996), coastal, bush vine vineyard were the cooler temperatures and small, naturally balanced and concentrated berries. Made by Waterkloof's talented young Cellarmaster Nadia Barnard. Balanced grapes are hand harvested, fermented spontaneously with wild yeast and then raised in large wooden casks (or 'foudre' en Francais). The resulting wine therefore, is perhaps more 'Pino' than 'Tage'. No additions other than sulphur as a preservative. Grown, made and bottled in South Africa. A complex, richly flavoured sparkling wine made from 100% Chardonnay, with aromas of green apples and citrus. Hints of lime are also evident along with notes of toasted bread and hazelnuts The palate is rich and creamy, textured with an explosive acidity and lasting, elegant finish.

The grapes were hand harvested in the cool early morning, than whole bunch pressed. The wine was blended and bottled and then aged in bottle for approximately 36 months, then it was released for sale.

This fresh, fruity style of Chenin Blanc shows prominent guava fruit aromas, green apple and punchy tropical fruits like pineapple with a nuance of jasmine. The palate is textured with a crisp and lingering finish. 

SERVING: Enjoy this wine chilled (5-8°C). Perfect aperitif and also pairs well with a variety of foods, including seafood dishes like chilli, lime and coriander prawns, or smoked salmon & dill crème fraiche. 

Bright ruby red. The nose is compact with brooding red fruit and spicy wood. The palate is round and supple with red fruit flavour accented by spicy wood. It is a deeply satisfying wine.

Fish Hoek Wines focus on stunning single grape varieties and pare back their winemaking until it's artful in it's simplicity. Fish Hoek wine was awarded Fairtrade Certification in 2015. Therefore, a percentage of the sale of every bottle goes directly into the hands of the farm workers who help grow the grapes. 

Fish Hoek Fairtrade Pinotage is a full-bodied South African wine from the Western Cape with flavours of plum and fruitcake, and a touch of oak adds balance to create the perfect Shiraz. 

Reduced to Clear.

A bright, vibrant wine with spicy red berry fruit such as blueberry and mulberry, exotic spice and creamy vanilla, evident ripe tannins and a long finish. This wine drinks well young but will improve over the next 6 to 8 years, gaining more complexity. 

The grapes were hand-picked into small baskets and taken to the cellar. A portion was fermented in open bins and hand-punched four times a day. The rest was fermented in a rototank. No commercial yeast was used as these grapes ferment well with their own yeast. The wine matured in a mixture of French and American oak barrels for 14 months. Approximately 30% was new wood.

Recommendation Deeply flavoured dishes. Peking duck, sweet & sour Pork belly, mushroom risotto.

This is a deep, ruby coloured, concentrated red blend shows prominent aromas of dark cherry, blackcurrant and vanilla. On the palate cinnamon, sweet spice and ripe, juicy dark fruit together with a firm tannin structure, ensures good length and an enduring finish.

Grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness. After de-stem, they were cold soaked for two days to extract more fruit character and enhance colour. The wine was inoculated with specially selected yeast strains and fermented until dry. Free-run juice was racked to barrel where it underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine was then racked from the lees and returned to barrel for 18 months of maturation.

Recommendation This wine can be enjoyed on its own or with a variety of flavourful meat dishes.

Western Cape, South Africa Shiraz is fast establishing a reputation both at home and abroad for producing some of South Africa’s most promising reds. Has a typical deep colour and spicy flavour mingled with sweet vanilla oak from the maturation in small oak barrels. The Shiraz grape produces easy drinking wines with attractive blackberry fruit and ripe tannins.

A complex wine with a deep ruby colour and aromas of dark fruit, vanilla, and smoke. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied with firm tannins and a long finish.

This wine is an excellent example of the unique South African grape varietal, Pinotage.

Fresh and zesty with grassy and dry bay leaf aromatics, mineral notes, with hints of richness. This is a restrained Sauvignon Blanc with a palate that has lots of minerality and citrus with lightly herbal notes. The finish is ripe and gently honeyed with crisp green apple fruit and fresh acidity.

Perfect with a host of Mediterranean dishes, or with Chinese squid or Thai fish dishes.
