A classic Chardonnay from Southern Burgundy - fine buttery and floral notes on the nose and a wine
of substance and finesse on the palate. Some creamy textural notes up front reveal the discreet
presence of oak, whilst on the finish there is some underlying minerality and a hint of citrus zestiness
that provides long lasting flavours.
FOOD MATCH
An admirable accompaniment to the classic Burgundian dish of poulet à la crème (chicken in creamy
sauce), or a shellfish chowder. Great with vegetable risotto and pan fried fish, too.Suitable for vegans.Suitable for vegetarians. From a 12 hectare plot in the village of Bussières, to the south of the Mâconnais region, with an
average vine age of about 40 years. The soil is classic argilo-calcaire that suits Chardonnay so well
and that lends elegance and finesse to the final wines. 10% of the wine is barrel aged to give a more
textural, slightly creamy element.
Smooth and refined with an underlying twist of freshness and supple, soft, ripe, fruit flavours on the palate, finishing with a squeeze of pithy citrus and candied pineapple.FOOD MATCHBest served chilled. Fantastic both with and without food - try it with creamy pasta verde! In the south-west of France, Gascony has emerged as a specialist producer of fresh white wines which offer finesse and charm. A mixture of silt, sand and alluvial deposits help the soil to drain - ideal conditions for a healthy crop.
Immediately appealing with good depth of flavour and underlying finesse that provides wonderful
length and unfolding flavours - think of freshly cut hay and meadowsweet for the nose, crunchy
greengages for the palate, and some candied peel / lemongrass for the final notes.
Food match: An extremely versatile wine that can be enjoyed alone or with food – delicious alongside grilled fish
(locally we would use zander), chicken in cream sauce (poulet à la crème), asparagus & mushroom
risotto, fish chowder, a traditional roast chicken with all the trimmings, or even a cheese platter -
particularly goat's cheese.Suitable for vegans.Suitable for vegetarians.Plots within the Mâcon-Charnay-lès-Mâcon appellation lie on the higher slopes of the Mont du
Mâconnais, where soils are varied but limestone is prevalent. Here Chardonnay ripens under a
Continental climate (typically cold winters followed by warm springs and almost Mediterranean sun in
the summer). Once ripe, picking is both by hand and machine. Machine harvesting has the advantage
of picking in the early hours of the morning before daylight when the temperature rises; hand picking
is gentler and keeps whole bunches intact. After pressing and static settling the must is cooled to
around 12°C to ensure a controlled fermentation. Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, wines are
left to winter and undergo malolactic fermentation. With enviable priority access to the cellar in
Mâcon-Charnay, Samantha tastes each individual tank (up to 20) to select a very personalised blend
for GENETIE 'Les Piliers', combining three essential elements - the florals, the exotic and the mineral.
The final blend is kept on fine lees until bottling, combining the warmth of southern Burgundy with
the elegance and finesse of the special terroir of Mâcon-Charnay-lès-Mâcon.
There are fine, light, fruity aromas of fresh green apples and pears plus a hint of yeastiness on the
nose. The palate is creamy and softly sparkling with some richness and a long, gently aromatic finish.
The perfect aperitif or celebration wine. Also goes very well with Panettone. Suitable for vegansSuitable for vegetariansProsecco di Valdobbiadene Spumante is made from Glera grapes cultivated in selected vineyards in
the district of Valdobbiadene near the town of Conegliano in the region of Veneto. Produced using the
Charmat method of sparkling wine production with secondary fermentation taking place in tank. (The
Champagne/traditional method is not used for Prosecco because the long ageing period would rob the
wine of its freshness).
Bright, aromatic and juicy on the nose with just a touch of naughty bacon fat. True to the varietal, the
tiny proportion of Malbec in this blend gives a flowery perfume. This vintage is dangerously drinkable Shiraz due to its fine, bright fruit and soft silky elegance.Drink with Moroccan lamb tagine, roast vegetables and hard cheeses.Suitable for vegansSuitable for vegetariansOur Shiraz is sourced from ancient Victorian soils in order to achieve a wine with greater finesse,
purity and structure as well as typical eucalypt flavours and saline finish associated with the area.
Picked at night and crushed within an hour of picking before being sent to the fermentation tanks. The
Shiraz grapes were fermented in temperature-controlled tanks maintained at 22 - 25ºC to avoid
extracting any harsh tannins, with the fermentations pumped over to extract good colour. 20% of the
final blend is barrel aged. The winemaker also added 5% Malbec at the end of the whole process - a
sneaky technique that gives a mulberry fruit twist on the finish.
A dark red coloured port with a seductive rich perfume of ripe plums and cherries. On the palate it is complex, with an excellent structure and a long lingering finish.Great when served at the end of a meal, with chocolate and rich chocolate desserts, nuts and cheese.Usually serve at room temperature but can also be served slightly chilled.Warrior is the oldest mark of Port in the world, having been shipped continuously since
