Cotes du Rhone Rouge La Chapelle du Marin

Cotes du Rhone Rouge La Chapelle du Marin

Reduced to Clear. Available While Stocks Last. Attractive, juicy, bramble fruit and floral aromas, the palate is up-front and fresh with warm spice and real depth. Patrice Armand, a Cairanne neighbour of Domaine Boutinot Rhône owns 40ha of vines which see plenty of sunshine throughout the year and benefit from both the Mistral wind – which keeps things cooler and disease-free – and higher than average rainfall. His vieilles vignes (old vines) are between 60 and 70 years old and, in their old age, are achieving low but concentrated yields of 45hl/ha. We mainly source La Chapelle de Marin from three of Patrice’s parcels which lie on poor soils with a high limestone content - La Combe d’Antide, La Beraude and, on the sandier lower slopes, Les Sablières. Hand-picked bunches are carefully destemmed and vinified using traditional ‘minimal intervention’ techniques. This wine is made without the use of oak to retain the pure fresh fruit character. Lovely with BBQs; grilled meats, halloumi and vegetables. Herby sausages, pasta with Mediterranean vegetables.Suitable for vegans.Suitable for vegetarians.

Sancerre 'Mainbré' Domaine du Pré Semelé Loire

Sancerre 'Mainbré' Domaine du Pré Semelé Loire

A refined, classic Sancerre with a subtle smokiness and aromas of bruised apple and honey. The palate is textural with layers of rich, lifted minerality and ripe citrus fruit, leading into the long, substantial finish. A great weight and depth to this wine which is well-balanced and has a lovely acidity throughout. Best to let breathe for optimal tasting experience. Try with: fish, shellfish of course, white meats, salads and most vegetarian dishesThis wine is Organic.Julien and Clément manage 20 hectares of vines across 60 different parcels, three quarters of which are Sauvignon Blanc and one quarter Pinot Noir. Soils are primarily the classic ‘terres blanches’ clay chalk, a heavier soil which gives the wines a ripe fruit character, and some 'caillottes', a form of limestone. A very modern, well-equipped, stainless steel cellar allows them to control the temperature of the wines during fermentation and later storage in tank prior to bottling to retain the freshness of the fruit characters. The grapes for this cuvée are a blend from all of the Raimbault's parcels of Sauvignon Blanc, and the wine is aged in stainless steel for ten months on its lees.
