A black-cherry colour with terracotta nuances in the rim and a deep robe. The oak and fruit in the complex nose are well blended and balance perfectly with the dense, rich palate. This is a magnificent wine with an expressive nose, followed by an elegant and silky palate. With more time in the glass, its complexity and grandeur increase even further.The wine is aged for 60 months in the barrel and the bottle with at least 24 months in oak barrels and a minimum 24 months in the cellar.This Gran Reserva is made from the best grapes from vineyards located in the rolling hillsides of Laguarda and Lapuebla de Labarca in the medium to high altitude zones with their favourable clay soils. The vines are an average of 30 years old.A perfect accompaniment for red meat or game in roasts or stews, cured meat, oily fish and mature cheese.Highly Recommended in Decanter magazine March 2021.

A modern style of Rioja which is made using 100% Tempranillo grapes which are grown in some of the best areas in Rioja Alavesa.The wine is aged in American oak barrels for 24 months then aged for a further 12 months in bottle before release.The nose is dominated by well ripened fruits, strawberries and toasted notes with hints of leather. The palate is deep and warm, well rounded with smoky notes. The wine is rich and full flavoured.Good with barbeques and cold meats.

Old Boys 21 Year Old Barrel Aged Tawny 75cl
Classic tawny colour with streaks of amber. An array of aromas are on display with dark raisined fruits, mocha, hints of vanillin oak and nutty aged barrel characters. Initially luscious, nuances of mocha and coffee have integrated over time, barrel aged flavours in harmony resulting in a smooth, lingering drying finish.General Characteristics Sweet / Medium bodied. Suggested Cuisine Tawnys are a traditional after dinner wine that can be savoured with a platter of cheeses or a rich fruit or chocolate dessert. Wine making: Fruit is allowed to stay on the vine until very sweet and an intense concentration of flavours has developed. After crushing and partial fermentation to retain some sweetness, the wine is pressed and then fortified with a neutral spirit prior to maturation in small and large format oak casks. Cellaring: With an average age of 21 years, Old Boys Barrel Aged Tawny can be cellared for extended maturation in bottle but is blended to be enjoyed on opening at any time.
