The grapes for False Bay Bush Vine Pinotage stem from a single vineyard of unirrigated bush vines in Stellenbosch. The attraction to this mature (planted in 1996), coastal, bush vine vineyard were the cooler temperatures and small, naturally balanced and concentrated berries. Made by Waterkloof's talented young Cellarmaster Nadia Barnard. Balanced grapes are hand harvested, fermented spontaneously with wild yeast and then raised in large wooden casks (or 'foudre' en Francais). The resulting wine therefore, is perhaps more 'Pino' than 'Tage'. No additions other than sulphur as a preservative. Grown, made and bottled in South Africa. This smooth Cabernet Sauvignon produced on the Western Cap of South Africa is named after a spiral horned Antelope that is native to the region.

It is full of blackberry and blackcurrant flavours, with a touch of sweet spice on the nose and a soft, yet full palate of juicy plums. 

A fresh, dry wine made in the Western Cape. The wine is dry with classic baked apple and zippy citrus aromas with soft, delicate apple fruit on the palate well balanced by crisp acidity. Extended lees contact gives this great value wine some real weight and character.

A complex, richly flavoured sparkling wine made from 100% Chardonnay, with aromas of green apples and citrus. Hints of lime are also evident along with notes of toasted bread and hazelnuts The palate is rich and creamy, textured with an explosive acidity and lasting, elegant finish.

The grapes were hand harvested in the cool early morning, than whole bunch pressed. The wine was blended and bottled and then aged in bottle for approximately 36 months, then it was released for sale.

Fish Hoek Wines focus on stunning single grape varieties and pare back their winemaking until it's artful in it's simplicity. Fish Hoek wine was awarded Fairtrade Certification in 2015. Therefore, a percentage of the sale of every bottle goes directly into the hands of the farm workers who help grow the grapes. 

Fish Hoek Fairtrade Pinotage is a full-bodied South African wine from the Western Cape with flavours of plum and fruitcake, and a touch of oak adds balance to create the perfect Pinotage. 

Reduced to Clear.

A bright, vibrant wine with spicy red berry fruit such as blueberry and mulberry, exotic spice and creamy vanilla, evident ripe tannins and a long finish. This wine drinks well young but will improve over the next 6 to 8 years, gaining more complexity. 

The grapes were hand-picked into small baskets and taken to the cellar. A portion was fermented in open bins and hand-punched four times a day. The rest was fermented in a rototank. No commercial yeast was used as these grapes ferment well with their own yeast. The wine matured in a mixture of French and American oak barrels for 14 months. Approximately 30% was new wood.

Recommendation Deeply flavoured dishes. Peking duck, sweet & sour Pork belly, mushroom risotto.

This is a deep, ruby coloured, concentrated red blend shows prominent aromas of dark cherry, blackcurrant and vanilla. On the palate cinnamon, sweet spice and ripe, juicy dark fruit together with a firm tannin structure, ensures good length and an enduring finish.

Grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness. After de-stem, they were cold soaked for two days to extract more fruit character and enhance colour. The wine was inoculated with specially selected yeast strains and fermented until dry. Free-run juice was racked to barrel where it underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine was then racked from the lees and returned to barrel for 18 months of maturation.

Recommendation This wine can be enjoyed on its own or with a variety of flavourful meat dishes.
