Burgundy
Burgundy is the archetypal microclimate, producing wines under the village appellations and for the wines from the finest vineyards premier crus and the exalted grand crus. The vineyards stretch from the northerly Yonne, where Chablis is produced, down from Dijon to Macon where the world famous villages of the Cote d'Or, Chalonnaisand Maconnais meet the vineyards of Beaujolais.
