A golden yellow coloured sparkling wine made in Burgundy. The wine has fine bubbles and a persistent mousse. 

On the palate, a great freshness with floral aromas. Delicate and fine bubbles with beautiful long lasting aromas.

Ideal as an aperitif, it can also accompany a meal or go well with fruit based desserts.

This superb port is a blend of full, rich and fruity wines from a single year. These are carefully selected and aged in oak casks for a minimum 4 years before bottling. The grapes for this port were foot trodden in granite Lagares. The vats used to store the maturing port are called Tonels.

The characteristics of the port are its richness, depth of flavour and powerful, attractive bouquet.

In order to retain as much depth as possible, the port has been bottled in the same way as vintage port, without filtering, so the port may throw a deposit in the bottle.

Ready to drink now. It is excellent with cakes, red and black fruit jams, cheeses, tiramisu or as a digestive. 

Once opened the bottle can be left open for a couple of  months.

 A juicy, full bodied red with a bright nose with ripe blackberry plum fruit and sweet spice. The palate is silky and warming with more black fruit, plums and cherries. The wine is vibrant with an alluring blend of fruit along with clove, pepper and cinnamon spice finished off with well structured integrated tannins. A great wine with a fresh finish.

Great with rich red sauce based pasta dishes, game and matured cheeses. 

Ruby red in colour. Gorgeous flavours, almost syrupy in its concentration. Dark, rich and potent, with layers of complex, black cherry, raspberry and cinnamon. Deep, with pretty fruit cake and spicy aromatics.

100% estate grown grapes from the Dealul Uberland vineyard. The altitude here is around 250 m, with soil rich in iron oxide and loess on fractured limestone bedrock.

25% of the grapes were transfered directly into 1000 Kg bins without being destemmed then sealed and put through a carbonic macceration fermentation for 10 days in order to produce the strawberry fruit part of the blend. The remaining 75%was destemmed lightly crushed and then macerated and fermented normally at 25°C in stainless steel automated fermenters. Both wines were then seperately pressed and the noncarbonic maceration wine was lightly oaked for 2 months before blending.

A soft, ripe, easy drinking wine made from selected parcels of grapes from Languedoc, Burgundy and the Loire. There is plenty of jammy fruits and dark fruits such as blackcurrant in the blend and there is no oak used to preserve the freshness of the wine. A lively, red berry scented wine with a soft rounded palate.

Try with sausage, game. beef stew, duck and cheeses.

Quietly complex on the nose with fresh lime notes combining with a steely minerality and gentle honeysuckle flora. The palate is mid weight and off dry with persistent flavours of lime, there is natural salinity which gives contrast yet lovely balance. It finishes clean with a lingering flinty character.

Serve with oysters and shellfish, white meats and smoked salmon.  Also great with Asian cuisine.

Back in 1988, three families decided to invest in a winery in Romania, starting with 650 hectares of slightly unloved vineyards and a rusty, once state-owned winery.

Yet Englishman Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira, have turned the Cramele Recas Estate into the most successful winery in Romania. Recas are now recognised globally for their impressive scale and breadth of fascinating wines, including natural and orange wine from organic grapes. Despite the scale the emphasis is on making good wines that over-deliver, and as a result they’ve struck on a magic formula that has seen sales and demand boom. Vineyards are a combination of evolved plantings from 1447 and more recent planting, whilst the winery has seen significant investment and boasts state of the art facilities where innovation thrives. Recas are in every way a modern, dynamic winery, whose open minded approach and quality sets them apart … a winery you really can’t ignore.

Viticulture

Densely planted on hilly sites surrounding the winery at an altitude of 100m, the vines average 10 years old. Trained using the Guyot method. Drip irrigation is used if absolutely necessary though is by no means used every year.

Winemaking

100% handpicked estate grown fruit was harvested and taken quickly to the winery where it was gently destemmed and crushed. Cooled immediately to 8°C, the grapes were then pressed in a vacuum press under nitrogen to prevent oxidation, before being transferred to decantation tanks for 24 hours until completely clarified. Inoculated with selected yeast, the wine was fermented in stainless steel at very low temperatures between 8 and 10°C for 25 days, before clarification and bottling.

A deep crimson coloured wine with a nose that is intense with wild berry aromas with pepper and a hint of oak. The palate has strong ripe plum and berry flavours, that perfectly marry the subtle oak characters. The finish is long and velvety - what you expect from this full bodied wine.

Aromatic and intense, lovely aromas of wild berries, blossom, nutmeg and hints of sandalwood. Fresh, fruity and well balanced with sensations of raspberries, vanilla and cinnamon.

The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature and then spends 18 months in American and French oak barrels and a further 6 months in bottle before releasing.

Perfect accompaniment to chargrilled meat, cured ham and tapas.
