A serious and deep Cabernet Sauvignon from the south-western corner of South Africa. 

Loaded with dark fruit and spicy oak, this is the perfect glass of red for cool winter nights.

The Feast and Vine Cabernet Sauvignon has been expertly sourced and crafted by winemaker Leon Esterhuizen of the Gabb Family Vineyards Cellar. Carefully selected parcels of fruit grown in the sun blessed vineyards of South Africa's Western Cape, have been carefully worked to produce a fruit driven and bold wine. 

The perfect match for roast beef and steak. 

Dark garnet in colour, this wine is full of dark berry fruit such as blackberry, blueberry and black cherry. Oak ageing has contributed just a hint of smoke to the nose. The round, creamy wine delivers an abundance of the fruit flavours promised. The red fruit and oak are well integrated and the complexity of the wine plays on the palate.

Delicious served with bold dishes like rib eye steak or roast pheasant.

A dark ruby red wine with purple hints. It is medium bodied and has aromas of dark fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant and some savoury notes of cedar and roasted coffee.

The palate has cassis, layered with dark chocolate with dark chocolate and spices, balanced by fresh juicy fruits and bouncy acid, the wine has fine tannins and a smooth finish.

Fruit for Twist of Fate Cab. Sauv. is sourced from Jack Kay’s vineyard in Bool Lagoon (located between Coonawarra and Wrattonbully) and from Brett Williams’ vineyard in southern Coonawarra. The terra rossa soils and cool climate of these vineyards make them the perfect partners for growing high quality Cabernet.

A deep purple coloured wine with ruby red hues. Plenty of blackcurrant, dark plum aromas with a hint of black olive. The palate is rich and generous with black fruits and roasted coffee. The wine is full bodied and aged in oak but this is very restrained and does not overpower the wine and it has a long persistent finish.

Taken from the pristine soils of the Limestone Coast, this Cabernet Sauvignon shows the trademark bright fruit and generous flavours associated with the region. The cool air flow and long sunshine hours in this area provide extended ripening and hence complexity. Cabernet is well suited to this climate, developing intense black fruit aromas whilst maintaining lovely natural acidity and a sturdy tannin structure.

Ruby red in colour. The nose is intense, with a pronounced presence of fruity aromas such as cherries and strawberries as well as truffle and chocolate. Medium bodied, well balanced, and delicate, with particularly smooth tannins and rich acidity, resulting in a juicy and very pleasing wine with a persistent finish.

Ideal with meat-based dishes and stews. This wine shows a unique harmony with grilled blood sausage, slow-cooked beef, and pastas such as gnocchi with blue cheese. Serve at 18ºC in a Bordeauxstyle glass.
The grapes for this wine come from organic vineyards of Los Morros and Los Robles in the Maipo Valley. Soils are alluvial, rich in minerals with good drainage and irrigated by water from the snow  thaw. The grapes were hand picked. The Maipo zone has ideal conditions for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. The Maipo River regulates the temperatures naturally and prevents frost and extremes of heat and cold. The spring of 2013 was slightly colder than the historic average, followed by a summer with high temperatures, which accelerated ripening and prevented the delays that were initially predicted for the 2014 harvest. Rainfall in the Maipo Valley was concentrated in the winter months and reached approximately 250 mm, which is well below the nearly 450 mm recorded during the 2012–2013 season. The grape reception area includes a double selection conveyor belt that allows selection first at the bunch level and again after destemming. Vinification begins with a 4–5-day prefermentation cold soak at 8ºC followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts at 26ºC and a pumpovers program determined by enological criteria. Malolactic fermentation takes place naturally in tanks and barrels, where the wine is aged at controlled temperatures for 12 months. It is neither fined nor stabilized; it is just lightly filtered with a 1-micron cartridge filter prior
to bottling.

A rich full bodied wine with plenty of blackcurrant and plum flavours. The palate is full and concentrated with soft tannins.

Serve with red and grilled, barbecued meats and mature cheese.

Attractive aromas of black currant and crunchy red fruit accompanied by notes spice. The palate is concentrated and very smooth with great crunchy red fruit character. The tannins are ripe and provide

welcome grip and combined delicious acidity, leads to a balanced finish.

This wine is ideal with well-seasoned, strong-flavoured dishes, such as pasta with Bolognese sauce, stuffed cannelloni, grilled beef, pork, or poultry. It also goes very nicely with ripe cheeses, salami, ham, and pastrami.
 
The Central Valley vitivinicultural zone extends from the Maipo Valley in the north to the Maule Valley in the south. The entire zone has good drainage, high fertility, and tremendous agricultural aptitude, especially for red grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and others. The Mediterranean climate has warm summers with broad daily oscillations between daytime and night time temperatures, and cold, rainy winters that allow for good vine development. The soils are of alluvial origin with moderate depth, and good for agriculture. The grapes were hand picked in mid- April and submitted to a week-long pre-fermentation cold soak at 8ºC (46ºF) to extract fresh fruit characteristics. Alcoholic fermentation took place at 25º–28ºC with daily pump-overs. The new wine remained on its skins for a period, after which the free run wine was separated from its skins and allowed to undergo malolactic fermentation naturally. Part of this wine was aged in oak barrels for 6 months and later reblended to achieve a more complex character.

Matured in French oak barrels for 12 months. Deep ruby-red colour. Aromas of red fruit with elegant vanilla and black chocolate nuances. Firm tannins and a long finish.

Deep ruby red with fantastically expressive aromas of cherries, cedar wood, rosemary and cloves. A rich savoury palate with lots of Morello cherry and blackberry flavours, some earthy spice and fine tannins. A wine packed with flavour and heritage.

Food match: Perfect with rich, lamb casseroles or a spicy chickpea harissa stew

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Syrah (40%), Cinsault (15%) and Carignan (5%) Grapes are grown on 15-20 year old vines on sandy limestone, with clay sub-soils. All four varietals were hand harvested and fermented in concrete vats for 10 days. Malolactic fermentation begins spontaneously, after which the wine was blended and then aged for 16 months in concrete vats.

Reduced to Clear.

Appearance: Bright ruby colour.

Nose: Cherry, underwood and mild spices flavours.

Palate: Subtle with a nice roundness. Tannins are silky and the finish dominated by the fruit.

Serving temperature around 10-14 degrees.

To be drunk now but it will age with no alteration for 2 to 3 years.

This red wine will match perfectly with every red meat, along with tomato-based sauce.

Personal crush to pair it with: Duck breast fillet slightly grilled, topped with a thyme juice. Cubed sliced carrots and zucchini on the side.
