Ruby-red in colour with intense aromas of ripe blackberry and black cherry, married with floral and herbal notes. Elegant and balanced on the palate, with smooth tannins providing structure and body, the wine has a refreshing acidity that carries the complex flavours of ripe blackberry, plum and forest floor through to the long finish.

Quinta dos Carvalhais is a beautiful estate in the Terras de Senhorim sub-region of the Dão and is one of the region's most respected producers. Purchased in 1988 by Sogrape, a huge amount of investment has gone into the estate, which combines the most up-to-date viticultural and winemaking techniques with age-old traditions, resulting in unique wines with great elegance and personality. In addition to investing in their own vineyards, Quinta dos Carvalhais has also been instrumental in defending the interests of local winegrowers and for pioneering the quality revolution in the Dão region. The talented Beatriz Cabral de Almeida is head winemaker and makes a very impressive range of single-varietal wines and interesting blends from the estate vineyards.

Appearance: Bright ruby colour.

Nose: Cherry, underwood and mild spices flavours.

Palate: Subtle with a nice roundness. Tannins are silky and the finish dominated by the fruit.

Serving temperature around 10-14 degrees.

To be drunk now but it will age with no alteration for 2 to 3 years.

Personal crush to pair it with: Duck breast fillet slightly grilled, topped with a thyme juice. Cubed sliced carrots and zucchini on the side.

A dark, intense and robust red blend from the Douro. The palate delivers a crescendo of blackberry, ripe black cherries and plums layered over subtle spice and a bold, rich finish. Best enjoyed with the volume turned up.

This fresh, fruity style of Chenin Blanc shows prominent guava fruit aromas, green apple and punchy tropical fruits like pineapple with a nuance of jasmine. The palate is textured with a crisp and lingering finish.

The wine has mellow aromatics of red apple, dried apricot, and nougat, with a touch of flinty savoury notes. On the palate, it is richly textured and had generous flavours of stone fruit with a persistent mineral finish.

The grapes were harvested by hand and aged on the lees for 5 months before bottling.

The 2022 was a challenging vintage due to the weather but produced excellent quality wines.

This wine is an excellent example of the unique South African grape varietal, Pinotage.

Pale yellow colour and greenish highlights. Intense aromas of citrus, lime and grapefruit interlaced with the vibrant presence of fresh herbs. This wine is unoaked.

Straw yellow in colour. Vita Libera Pinot Grigio has an intense bouquet of tropical fruits, such as passion fruit and lychee, with citrus touches. On the palate it is medium-bodied and perfectly balanced, supple and refreshing. 

The Pinot Grigio is dealcoholized using the "vacuum evaporation technique". With this method it is possible to remove the alcohol at a temperature of 20C, preserving the freshness and the varietal characteristics of the wines.
